Pathable Release Process Follow
The Pathable development and operations team releases minor upgrades, bug fixes and adjustments on a daily basis. Because we serve literally dozens of events every day, and bug fixes and upgrades are often time sensitive, we are not able to accommodate "no change" windows for individual clients.
However, to minimize the possibility of disruption, new features are rolled out biweekly, typically on a Thursday. The precise day and time is chosen so that the fewest live activities are ongoing during the release. The Pathable architecture does not require "downtime" during releases, so even if an event is live and active during the release, attendees generally will not notice.
Further, to minimize the possibility of things changing in a way that is disruptive, we have adopted a "no breaking changes" model where new features are generally additive / opt-in. Existing, active event sites will continue to function as they have, but will be given the option of choosing whether to adopt / expose new features at their discretion after release.
Our Release Notes page will explain the changes that have been made and how to take advantage of them, and we do our best to publish information about new features before they are released, so that those wishing to take advantage of them can plan.
We encourage you to use the "Follow" option on that page to receive e-mail notifications when a new set of release notes is published. This is the best way to stay informed about the constant stream of improvements and additions Pathable provides to our clients.
