Conversations: An Overview (Setting Up and Moderating Messages) Follow
Conversations is a feature that allows your attendees to engage in message-board style conversations in various locations within the app. By default, the app will create a public forum page with a conversation widget on it, and a conversation widget on each session in your agenda. The widget associated with this feature is called Messages.
Configuring the settings within a Message widget:
- Dashboard > Content > Access the Messages widget on the page you've place it on. The Messages widget by default shows on the Discussions system page.
- You may edit the Mode:
- Unlinked Mode (default) will show ALL messages from all Message widgets -- it's a digest of all conversations. This is the setting for your main "Public Forum" widget.
- Linked Mode will take any of the conversations from the widget you are in, and include them as part of your unlinked mode widget, elsewhere in the app. Linked mode is the default for Message widgets on agenda items. If you want attendees to see the in-meeting conversations as part of your public forum, you want Linked Mode.
- You may also edit the way the conversations are sorted: with most recently started at the top, or most recently active at the top. Most recently active takes replies into account, and is the default.
Pinning or Deleting Individual Comments/ Threads:
To delete a conversation, from the attendee-facing app (front-end):
- Access the page where your Message widget is housed
- Locate the message to delete
- Click the three dots on the upper-right corner of the message
- Select Delete from the drop-down
To pin a conversation, from the attendee-facing app (front-end):
- Access the page where your Message widget is housed
- Locate the message to delete
- Click the three dots on the upper-right corner of the message
- Select Pin from the drop-down
Pinning a conversation will make it 'stick' to the top of the page.
