New Service Integrations Follow
-
People: Attendees, speakers, exhibit staff, etc.
-
Agenda: The sessions that appear on your agenda, as well as pre-scheduled private meetings, as well as information about who is registered for those sessions
-
Exhibiting / Sponsoring companies: Information about companies represented at your event, including their staff (as referenced by the People import referenced above)
All integrations, once built, can be re-used across future events without additional cost or development work. The first step in turning on an integration on any given event will be selecting the integration you wish to connect in Data Import->Import Jobs on your admin dashboard. After that, the importer runs automatically hourly until 2 days before the event starts, and then increases to every 20 minutes until 1 day after the event end date, adding new user accounts and updating existing user accounts, depending on the choices you made during configuration.
New Integrations
- API documentation from your provider
- Credentials (e.g., user name and password, API Key) for your service provider's account to be used by our development team for testing
- Information about where to find the data in the provider's database (sometimes this is obvious and you don't need to provide it, but with products like Salesforce, where they can be configured in custom ways, we need to know where you have put your data)
- The fields you are interested in collecting and/or passing back (see below)
People
The most common people fields we import are:
- Unique ID
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address
- Company Name
- Job Title
- Registration status
For registration status, please be sure to let us know the values we should be looking for to either include, exclude or remove attendees automatically. For example, if "registration status" is "canceled", should we remove that person from the site automatically? Should we wait until "registration status" is "paid" to import them?
Other fields we often have people ask us to import include:
- Phone number
- Ticket Type (e.g., "one day pass")
- Membership level
- Profile questions specific to your event (e.g., "What do you hope to learn?")
Agenda
The most common agenda fields we import are:
- Session Name
- Start Time
- End Time
- Description
- Track
- Speakers (referenced either by email address or the "unique ID" created in the People import above)
- CEU Credits
- Keywords
When writing data back to your provider, the most common agenda-related fields are:
- Who registered
- When each person started watching a session
- When each person stopped watching a session
If you wish us to write this data back, please provide information about where in your database schema you would like this information stored.
Organizations
Organizations are generally companies that are exhibiting at / sponsoring your event. The most common organization-related fields we import are:
- Company Name
- Description
- Sponsorship level
- An Internet-accessible link to the company's logo
- Company staff (referenced either by email address or the "unique ID" created in the People import above)
