Live, embedded webinars hosted on the Zoom platform do not support the speaker's video headshot being visible while they present a slide deck.
- This is a function of the Zoom API, NOT a Pathable decision, so Pathable cannot change this in Settings or otherwise.
- The Zoom developers have been alerted and know that this issue is browser-specific.
- Zoom does not have a fixed deadline for resolution.
- Post-session recordings do still display speaker view.
The most reliable workaround is viewing the webinar via Firefox in theater mode or as embed. See screenshots 1 and 2, below, for a sample of that display. Unfortunately this workaround does not work in Google Chrome or any other browser we tested.
Another, less reliable, workaround is setting the background as a PowerPoint presentation. However, this option is still in beta and doesn’t always work as expected. See Screenshots 3 and 4, below.
